PULATHURUTHI
Introducton:
Pulathuruthi is the place of beauty in Ayancheri Panchayath. This place is an enriched bio-diversity. We can see somany birds,buterflys and plants that can not see in any where in kerala, or in India. The birds like 'cherikokke' , 'kulakkozhi','Njeranda', 'Neelakkozhi', 'Kadakkozhi' are here. They visit this place with out any disturbance becouse of the hearty mind of the local people. They cannot hunt these birds.
Location:
This place located in ayncheri Panchayath about 13 Km away from vatakaara Municipaility and about 3 Km away from Ayancheri Town. The landmark is ThekkelPoyil, a wide play ground in this panchayath.
Charactristics:
Pulathuruthi is situated in the centre of a wide Paddyfield, 'avalapandi'. In the season of rain ,in between the months june to augest the Paddy field flodded becouse of the effect of Gulikappuzha, a river near ayancheri. This time people cannot reach there by walk and only the way of transport is boat. This is the positive condition to the birds and some kinds of Animels to their reproduction.. The animels alive there are 'Udumbu', 'Oxe' and some kinds of snakes.
The most important feature of this place is that there is a temple known as Pulathuruthi Bhagavathy Temple. This place is used as a semitry of some people in Hindu religion known as Pulaya. There is a festivel in this temple in every year known as Puthari Mahothsavam. In these days somany people visit here to see 'Thirayattam', a traditional art of Kerala, expeceally in Malabar.
